West
Coast Aloran Fiesta by: Mart Celemin
The Aloran Fiesta celebration on
September 3-4, 2005 went very smoothly as planned. Hosts Peter &
Rose Mutia were so gracious in receiving many Aloranons and friends who
started coming at 10:30 AM. With Marcelo Lobido's music system,
Aloranons demonstrated their musical talents including couples duets,
the highlight of the affair. The following day, Aloranons flocked to Boy
& Inday Mutia residence to continue the festivities and meeting.
Reunion of Aloranons next year topped the agenda. It was an enjoyable
and memorable event.

Aloranon Passed Away by: Mart Celemin On
June 16, 2005, Aloranon Paz Perez Mutia died at her home in Quezon
City. Her husband [Tomas] Damaso "Masoy" Mutia and
children were at her side when she succumbed to a lung illness.
Her brothers Boy and Danny Perez from California were also
present. Paz and Masoy have a successful recruitment agency
in Quezon City supplying workers to Taiwan and other countries.
|
Paz
was born & raised in Brngy. Monterico. Although I've seen her
back home when she was doing Rural Service in the late 1960s, it
was when she was married to Masoy that I began to know her
quite well. (Masoy & I are first cousins - our late fathers
were brothers). In 1980, while I was looking for placement to the
Middle East, with another cousin, I was staying at their previous
place in Novaliches. She was always there for us especially when
things get rough. For us, for those who were there before us,
& those who came after us, she was our big sister. We're going
to miss her.
