ELLEN "ANGGING" GONZAGA DALOCANOG PASSED AWAY - by Mart Celemin
   
As previously reported by Dodong A. Mutia, Ellen"Angging" Gonzaga Dalocanog, a registered nurse, died on April 19, 2008 in New Jersey.  Her family, her husband Nolie and children were with her when she passed away. Angging was the daughter of the late Isabelo and Cornelia Gonzaga of Barangay Ibabaw, Aloran, Misamis Occidental. She kept her serious illness (cancer)a secret so not to worry her family and relatives in Aloran. She was an exemplary wife and mother.
Aloranons and friends are asked to pray for the repose of her soul.

REGALADO/CAJITA CLAN REUNION ANNOUNCED - by Martin C. Celemin
The 2nd reunion in North America of the Regalado/Cajita clan will be held in Chicago, IL on Friday July 4 and Saturday 5, 2008. All members of the R/C clan from Canada and the U.S. are invited and are expected to come.

FORMER MIS. OCC GOVERNOR & ASSEMBLYMAN VISITS LAS VEGAS - by Mart Celemin
   
Recently, former governor & assemblyman Henry Yape Regalado of Misamis Occidental, Philippines visited Las Vegas to meet his close relatives after visiting his youngest daughter Trina in Anaheim, CA.  His primary purpose to come to the U.S. was to attend an international conference of
power (electricity) providers. Ex-Governor Regalado has been a director of Misamis Occidental Electric Cooperative, the agency that provides electric power to the entire province of Misamis Occidental. He left Las Vegas last March 1, 2008.

Isanelia "Inday" Redilla Gonzaga and her aunt Atring Redilla Sy died last week according to Boy Undag Suico of California. Inday was the daughter of the late Isabelo and Cornelia Gonzaga of Barangay Ibabaw, Aloran Misamis Occidental. Nang Atring was the wife of the late Agapito Sy,
a longtime owner of a popular store in Barangay Ospital, Aloran. As Aloranons, they were upstanding citizens.

MUTIA CLAN REUNION IN ALORAN - by Martin C. Celemin
   
  According to Georgia resident Ofelia "Angging" B. Mutia, members of the Mutia Clan will hold their rare international reunion in Aloran, Misamis Occidental on April 26, 2008.
    Historically, the fabled Mutia clan originated from the Visayas region of the Philippines in the island province of Bohol. Sometime in the 19th century, a Mutia family migrated south to the big island of Mindanao in the province of Misamis Occidental to a small hamlet Anuran now Aloran.  From the six children of the original family have come five or six generations of Mutia spread out but the bulk has remained in Aloran.  Some say over 50% of native
    Aloranons are somehow descendants of the pioneering Mutia.
    The current mayor Jimmy Regalado is an example.

NICK NARANJO CAJITA, A NEW GRANDFATHER - by Mart Celemin
   
Last week, Nicolas "Nick" N. Cajita and wife Marlene Abuton Cajita of Chicago area became new grandparents. Their eldest daughter Nicole delivered a healthy baby boy in Pittsbirgh, PA. Both Nikki (her nickname) and husband Ryan Balili are happy parents. 

Nick,an NBA, borned and raised in Barnagay Ospital, Aloran, Misamis Occidental graduated from Cebu Institute of Technology with engineering degrees. He worked at Maria Cristina Falls Plant in Iligan City before coming to the U.S..  Marlene, a native of Oroquieta City worked in the bank at Iligan.  

Congratulations to Nikki,Ryan, Nick and Marlene.

BOY TUYAK MUTIA DIES - by Mart C. Celemin

Bernardo Mutia, popularly known as Boy Tuyak passed away at 65 on February 3, 2008 as reported by his good friend Sannie Sumalpong of Azusa, CA. He was borned & raised in Barangay Ibabaw, Aloran, Misamis Occidental, Philippines.
He is remembered by Aloranons as a very friendly young man.
His twin brother Bebe Mutia died a few years back and older sister Eta passed away last year. Boy was a member of the Barangay Council.  His body lies in state at the Barangay Hall and will be buried in a few days.  Aloranons who knew Boy are saddened of his demise.

ALORAN EXECUTIVE-LEGISLATIVE AGENDA FOR 2007-2010 - by Mart C. Celemin
   
  During the last half of 2007, a participatory workshop was conducted to come up with plans of action for the new municipal administration of Mayor Jimmy Roa Regalado together with the Sangguniang Bayan (Municipal Council)for 2007 to 2010 inclusive. The workshop included public discussions participated by newly elected officials, heads of different offices of local governments, and  representatives of non-governmental organizations. At the end of these workshops, they have formulated an Executive-Legislative Agenda for the next 3 years called Local Development and Investment Program.
    The Mayor's short term priorities are Agriculture, Health, Education, and  Peace & Order. Mayor Regalado elaborated     specific plans of actions to provide agricultural extension services to Aloran farmers; medical outreach & allocation of medicines to Aloran indigents; establish a satellite high school as a catchment area to neighboring barangays to improve access to secondary education; and to target and eradicate all forms illegal gambling and prohibited drugs.
A SPECIAL DEBUTANTE - by Mart C. Celemin

On Saturday, December 8, 2007 was a night to remember as
Danielle Marie Tayone of Los Angeles, CA stepped into the
limelight and came of age in a rare occasion of an Aloranon debut. Her beaming and proud parents Danilo and Maro Tayone,formerly of Barangay Ibabao, Aloran, Misamis Occidental and Oroquieta City gleefully greeted impressive guests that included debutante's grandmother Caring Mutia Tayone, aunt Evelyn Tayone Mutia, cousin Chi(the night's emcee) of New Jersey, her enthusiatic classmates and friends as well as prominent Aloranons. 

The night's event featured the old Spanish Cotillon, a debutante's signature group dance, performed gracefully by Danielle's closest classmates/friends led by her. The guests were offered delicious main course of Armenian delicacy preceded by multiple array of extraordinary salad. The highlight of night was the poignant memorable dance of the father and daughter with her magnificient white evening gown floating on the dance floor. The event's programme included, among others, ladies candle ritual of good wish to the beautiful and lovely celebrant followed by the men guests taking turns in dancing with Danielle and offering of a rose. 

The well organized and managed programme ended with the blowing of 18 candles on top of a beautiful cake. It was a spectacular event, a memrable night.

A  PROMINENT  ALORANON  DIES - by Mart C. Celemin
   
Irene Roa Mutia Leopoldo passed away very recently. She was in her eighties. Mam Irene, as she was popularly known in Aloran, was a dedicated teacher and an upstanding citizen.


Because of her devotion to teaching Aloran kids, she married
late to Mr. Leopoldo of Oroquieta City. She was the daughter
of the late Mr. and Mrs. Maxie Mutia of Barangay Dalisay, Aloran, Misamis Occidental, Philippines.
