Mga Hinandum Kong Aloranon,
It is with deep sorrow that I announce the untimely death of Joel "Yoyoy" Avelino on December 21st in Tagum Davao.
Yoyoy was born & raised in Ibabao & was with the SMHS 1969 Graduate Class. He earned his degree in Customs Administration from Cebu Central Colleges (now Cebu Central University).
He is survived by wife, Ion & two sons, & father Lazaro, sisters Alicia Bacayo, Necifura Moralde, Merlyn Bodiongan, & brothers Orlando & Carasiolo.
May his soul rest in peace.

A Medical Mission to Aloran by: Martin Celemin

On December 5, 2009 in Las Vegas, Nevada, Misamisnon-USA, an organization consisting of all towns of Misamis Occidental,
Philippines announced that it will undertake a medical mission to Aloran on July 14, 2010. Preparation is underway including coordination with Mayor Jimmy Regalado, collecting medicines, recruiting doctors and nurses, etc..
Aloran Association of America, a member of Misamisnon-USA is requested to contribute financially for the the medical mission to help on its needs.
The medical mission will primarily help the poor people of Aloran. Aloranon doctors and nurses are urged to join this mission.

Susana "Saning" Regalado passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2009 at the age of 82. She was married to Merchant Marine Captain Arturo Aguilar of Iligan City.
She was borned and raised in Aloran, Misamis Occidental. Saning was the 8th child of Leonardo Claro Regalado and Genoveva Suico who had 9 children Ponciano,
Salud, Paz, Fortunato, Prudencio, Emigdio, Susana all deceased and the youngest Carlita "Carling" who was married to Fernando Ocaya of Aloran and still living in Cagayan de Oro City.
Saning got her BS degree in Cebu. While married she gave birth to five children Armi A. Zuzon, Winnie A. Acharon, Antonio
Arturo (who resides in Las Vegas), Francis and Glen. In 1969, the Aguilar family moved to General Santos City.
By 1981, she and husband founded the Mindanao Polytechnic College of General Santos City and still in existence today
which graduated many merchant marines including some Aloranons.
Susana Regalado Aguilar was the first degree cousin of this writer's mother and the aunt of
Mayor Jimmy Regalado of Aloran.
The Regalado-Cajita Clan mourns her death and ask Aloranons who know her to pray for the repose of her soul.
