A LIFE WELL-LIVED... |
HIGH SCHOOL The Freshman |
A couple of weeks into my teen, I started high school. I already knew who among us, from Central School, would go to AHS and who to SMHS. In the midst of chaos, during enrollment, there I saw many familiar faces, and in addition, faces from years as cub scout and boy scout. Many were honor students from their respective schools, as I learned later, and they became my rivals, but more importantly, friends. Just days into the year, I knew I was in for the best time of my life. Not different from my peers, I began looking at the opposite gender quite differently from I used to. I became close to number of girls, not only from my class-year, but also from classes my senior. There was one though, whom I knew from my sacristan works at our church that caught my attention. I reminded her how we first met, hoping to gain start, especially knowing that some classmates and upper-class boys were also trying to get close to her. We became close friends and soon, more than just friends. |
